Starting Your Business

   The first thing you should consider in starting your business is what it will be. Many people sit and think about how great it would be to open their own business. In the world of ecommerce many times they see someting on tv or see a success story and are ready to jump in to make the big bucks. It takes alot more than that. Dreams are great and inspiring but reality can sometimes be expensive.

   What you should first consider is yourself. What interests you? What do you know about that you could market? The answer to either of these questions is where you should aim, not something off a "Hot Sheet" that someone is selling on the net. You are more likely to put your passion towards something that interests you over something that you were told was a passing fancy. Your passion will show through to your clients and customers, ultimately making your sale.

   So what is it? Woodworking? Fashion? Sports? What is it that makes you giddy? What do you look to get away from the pressures of daily life? Here in lies where you will be most passionate about persuing. Think about ways you could market your passion through knowledge or experience. What kind of value could you add to your customers experience?

   Take some time to chew on this. Email us with an idea if you wish. We can bounce it around to see some ideas towards marketing it. Don't worry if there are a million websites doing what you want to do. There are many stores in your town and the world that offer similar services, they compete. You will compete. Don't be detered!

   The main thing at this point is to get an idea of where to head. You may change this as you hone your plan but this is a good point to just get moving out the "I wish" stage. Into the action stage, which is further than most people get. At this point it has costed you nothing and you've made a reasoned plan towards success, not jumped off the deep end throwing money at a wild dream.
